The Golden State Warriors will face off against the Sacramento Kings at home on Thursday night as they look to extend their winning streak to six games.
Golden State has been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the trade deadline and they enter Thursday's matchup amid a five-game winning streak and have won nine of their last 10 games.
The bigger storyline heading into Thursday's nationally televised matchup with the Kings is Stephen Curry's chase to become the first player in NBA history to make 4,000 career three-pointers in the regular season.
Curry enters the matchup needing to make just two triples to reach 4,000 career threes, which would be just another incredible record for him.
Of course, Curry is the NBA's all-time leader in three-point makes with 3,998 and he has a sizeable lead over James Harden who is second on the all-time list with 3,127 career regular season threes.
While Curry will likely hit his 4,000th career three against the Kings on Thursday, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst believes that he can reach 5,000 threes for his career.
"His (Curry's) conditioning has never been better. So, if you're talking about getting to the 5,000 (career three's), his conditioning will allow him to do it," Windhorst said on ESPN's NBA Today.

Windhorst makes a strong point as Curry is playing is still playing at an All-NBA level even at 36 years old and he has showed no signs of slowing down despite being in the back half of his career.
The superstar point guard also recently stated that he would love to play longer than his contract, which is set to expire after the 2026-27 season, when Curry is 38 years old.
Of course, Curry would love to play for as long as he is able to and if he is able to play into his 40s like LeBron James, Windhorst may be right about him reaching 5,000 career threes by the time he retires.
