WASHINGTON — In-flight-connectivity providers **Panasonic Avionics** and **Hughes Network Systems** said the new-generation low-orbit broadband constellations, if they meet their performance targets, will lead the in-flight-connectivity (IFC) market to abandon multi-orbit LEO-GEO  for LEO-LEO.

It will not happen for several years, and operators with healthy geostationary satellites will still find them useful over high-traffic areas such as airports and seaports. But the trend is nonetheless toward airlines offering LEO-LEO services, with a primary and backup supplier, and moving away . . .
