Trent Alexander-Arnold still remains Real Madrid's top priority as the Spanish giants continue to push for the right-back.

The 26-year-old's future is still in the balance at Liverpool. At the moment, Alexander-Arnold is set to leave Anfield with his contract expiring at the end of June. Since the start of 2025, foreign clubs have been allowed to conduct pre-contract talks with the defender.

The club who looks the most likely to take the England international out of Arne Slot's hands is Real Madrid. Liverpool have continued to stand their ground and weren't drawn into a cash-sale during the January transfer window.

This put the club at a massive risk of losing out on millions if they weren't able to get Alexander-Arnold to sign an extension. Transfermarkt currently has the defenders market value at a hefty £62.9m. Now with the 26-year-old getting closer to leaving on a free transfer, Los Blancos remain as close as ever.

Fabrizio Romano stated on his YouTube channel: "In Madrid all the questions are about Trent Alexander-Arnold. Today we had reports from England about a bid from Real Madrid. With all respect, from when I told you this is not something that is changing now.

"Trent Alexander Arnold has had an offer from Real Madrid since a long time ago. Real Madrid presented the contract proposal, Real Madrid are absolutely convinced to go for Trent Alexander-Arnold; they consider him as a perfect signing.

"They have already discussed internally how much in terms of salary they want to give to Trent Alexander-Arnold. So, remember what I keep telling you, Trent is option one, two, three but also four and five at Real Madrid for the right back position.

"Real Madrid will go for Trent, they will go very strong, then lets see what happens because Liverpool want to try until the end to extend his contract. They will try to the end but Real Madrid internally remain really convinced and remain really confident; they believe Trent Alexander-Arnold can land in Spain for next season and play at Real Madrid..."

Slot could possibly start next season without three key Liverpool stars. Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are all out of contract this summer. The Reds will surely want to tie them all down on extended contracts, but the clock is ticking.
