West Ham United are set to watch Youssef En-Nesyri in action for Fenerbahce in the Europa League ahead of a potential approach for the Morrocan.
According to Aspor, West Ham United are closely monitoring Youssef En-Nesyri ahead of the summer, with scouts from the London side set to watch the Moroccan striker in action. Fenerbahce travel to Glasgow to take on Rangers and that might be where the Hammers’ observers watch the striker closely.
West Ham United’s summer list screams for new strikers, as Graham Potter will evaluate the idea of bringing in more than one striker. The futures of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings remain up in the air, while Niclas Fullkrug has not proved his worth since a big-money move last summer.
On-loan striker Evan Ferguson has had a subdued impact since joining from Brighton on a temporary loan deal, with the idea of his permanent stay far from certain at the moment. Hence, Potter will demand the club signs new forwards, with the likelihood of more than one arriving high at present.
They have an interest in Jonathan David, although the Canadian’s availability on a free transfer will spark a bidding war between plenty of top clubs in the summer. The Hammers are also keen on Samu Aghehowa from FC Porto, but here too, they face a lot of competition, mostly from Premier League rivals.
One other striker on their list is Youssef En-Nesyri, with the Morrocan putting in some big performances for Fenerbahce in Turkey. His arrival to the Turkish league was a bit surprising given he had some interest from the Premier League, but so far, the attacker has produced a solid enough season under Jose Mourinho, which has in turn re-kindled the interest of some Premier League sides including the Hammers.
West Ham to scout Youssef En-Nesyri
West Ham are not alone in the race for En-Nesyri, with a host of other clubs also monitoring the 26-goal striker target. The Hammers are ready to take the next step in this chase, as they will have scouts present in Glasgow to watch the striker in action for Fenerbahce when they take on Rangers.
The observers could then have a good enough perspective of the striker and whether he fits the mould of Potter at the London Stadium. En-Nesyri has the physicality and height suited for a Premier League target man, with Fenerbahce likely to demand a huge fee to let their 26-goal striker leave next summer.
