SCOUTING THE PANTHERS

HIT PARADES FOR THE HOME OF MARDI GRAS

The Jaguar dugout debuted a new celebratory tradition against Jacksonville,

the weekend before Mardi Gras, a collection of red, white, and blue colored bead necklaces. Since the debut of the beads, South Alabama's offense has surged. South has gone 5-2, averaging 9.1 runs/game, 12.1 hits/game, and 4.1 XBH/game. As the birthplace of Mardi Gras, the Jags have adopted a popular tradition of the holiday as a celebration for when a runner scores and returns to the dugout.

(HE'S) FROM LOUISIANA

Redshirt Junior Brennan Holt debuted in his first full series as an outfielder in his home state of Louisiana. After transitioning from second base (where he started all 5 games last season and began this season) to center field, Holt batted .308 on the weekend against Louisiana Tech with a .471 OBP. Holt knocked in three RBIs with four runs scored and struck his first home run of the season.
