Pittsburgh Steelers get price tag on Cooper Kupp

Just-released former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp should have over ten teams interested in his services. What if the Pittsburgh Steelers wanted to get involved in the sweepstakes? With a hefty amount of cap space still there, could they afford Kupp?

According to Jeff Howe of the Athletic, Kupp may only cost a modest amount. Many teams are slated to offer Kupp around $12 million per year, which is money for an average WR3 at this point. For the Steelers, that would not be much to bring Kupp in as an option.

The Rams tried to trade Kupp, but no teams seemed to be interested in trading for the 32-year-old wide receiver who was once the NFL’s triple-crown winner.

Since his standout 2000-yard receiving season, Kupp has dealt with injuries. He had not played in more than 12 games with injuries cropping up. This season, he missed nearly half the year with a high ankle sprain.

Kupp plays mostly in the slot, notching over 450 snaps there in 2024 compared to just around 100 outside. However, he is a great blocker. Injuries have hit Kupp throughout his career, but that is becoming a huge issue as he slows down the older he gets. The Steelers should still be in on it and have room to accommodate any contract Kupp would want.
