Man Utd player ratings vs Real Sociedad, sensational Patrick Dorgu as 8/10 teammate now undeniable for Ruben Amorim

Manchester United’s season is alive after a game marred by penalties and red cards saw them beat Real Sociedad 4-1 at Old Trafford.

The second leg continued the theme of the first, with a dubious penalty given to Real Sociedad early on which Oyarzabal converted to give them a shock lead.

Justice was delivered about five minutes later when Hojlund was fouled similarly in the box, Bruno Fernandes converting the penalty to draw level in a frantic start.

That wouldn’t be matched as both sides created chances, United particularly threatening ones, but no finishing touch meant teams went into half-time 1-1.

A penalty was needed again as United scored the game’s third, and their second via Fernandes when Dorgu was fouled in the box.

Dorgu’s energy again created Sociedad’s downfall when Jon Aramburu pulled him down as the last man, getting a red card for his troubles.

Fernandes sealed his hattrick late on the counter-attack after being expertly fed by Garnacho before Hojlund turned provider for Dalot to seal a 4-1 win.
