Bruno Fernandes celebrates scoring for Manchester United in the Europa League

Manchester United have a run of difficult fixtures to come after the international break following their Europa League victory over ten man Real Sociedad.

United got off to the worst possible start as Matthijs de Ligt was penalised by VAR for bringing Mikel Oyarzabal down in the area. The striker would dust himself off to fire home the opener.

Just moments later United would be level as Rasmus Hojlund was brought down by a similar challenge with captain Bruno Fernandes taking responsibility to slot home the equaliser. Everything went United's way in the second half as inside five minutes of the restart Patrick Dorgu won a penalty that was dispatched by Fernandes.

Then just after the hour mark Dorgu was involved again as this time he was brought down by Jon Aramburu who was subsequently sent off for the denial of a goalscoring opportunity. Fernandes would wrap up his hat-trick late on as he fired home one-on-one.

Diogo Dalot put the cherry on the cake late on as he converted from a Hojlund cutback. Following the victory, MEN Sport has taken a closer look at United's next five fixtures compared to those around them as the season creeps towards its conclusion.

United's next five fixtures

March 16 vs Leicester City (A) at 7pm - Premier League

April 1 vs Nottingham Forest (A) at 8pm - Premier League

April 6 vs Manchester City (H) at 4.30pm - Premier League

April 10 vs Lyon (A) at TBC - Europa League

April 13 vs Newcastle (A) at 4.30pm - Premier League

What MEN Sport says: Really United should be ending the month with a win on Sunday considering the quality of opposition in Leicester City. However, their return in April already looks tricky as they face three teams all challenging for the Champions League spots. Anything can happen in the derby, as proven earlier in December, but trips to Forest and Newcastle could be nervy occasions in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur's next five fixtures

March 16 vs Fulham (A) at 1.30pm - Premier League

April 3 vs Chelsea (A) at 8pm - Premier League

April 6 vs Southampton (H) at 2pm - Premier League
