President of Uzbekistan meets with Mayor of Paris
AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo as part of his visit to France, UzA reported.
The President of Uzbekistan congratulated the Mayor on the successful hosting of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games and expressed gratitude for naming one of the streets in Paris after Samarkand.
In response, Anne Hidalgo thanked the President of Uzbekistan for his support in ensuring public security during the Olympic events.
The sides highlighted the outcomes of the visit of the President of Uzbekistan, during which Uzbekistan and France elevated their multifaceted relations to the level of a strategic partnership, at the meeting.
Discussions also focused on enhancing practical cooperation and exchanges between Tashkent and Paris based on the recently signed agreement.
The parties exchanged experience in urban planning, developing green spaces, public transportation, digitalization, and the modernization and sustainable operation of urban infrastructure.
Additionally, both sides explored opportunities for mutual exhibitions, cultural and artistic events, and tourist gastronomic festivals.
Following the meeting, an official ceremony was held to name a street in Paris after Samarkand.
