LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles County is home to two of the best places to visit on Earth, according to Time's 2025 World's Greatest Places list.
In putting together its list, Time sought out what it called one-of-a-kind spots and experiences around the globe. From an Amazonian restaurant in Peru to a luxury resort overlooking a waterfall in Zimbabwe, Time's list of 100 extraordinary destinations includes a wide variety of places.
Los Angeles County is home to two of those 100 destinations, both in the "Places to Visit" category: Intuit Dome and the new wing of the Natural History Museum.
"Los Angeles hit a slam dunk with the launch of the new Intuit Dome. This is more than a shiny new home for the LA Clippers. It’s emerging as an entertainment powerhouse," Time wrote.
The $2 billion arena is home to the Los Angeles Clippers and is a popular concert venue; in January the Dome hosted the FireAid benefit concert, featuring Billie Eilish, Joni Mitchell, a Nirvana reunion and more.
The Dome features five basketball courts — the game court, two practice courts, one promotional court and one court on the outdoor plaza. In addition, it features 86,000 square feet of training, medical and player spaces, including an indoor pool, and an 80,000-square-foot outdoor plaza that features two bars, a restaurant and 5,000-square-foot team store.
The seating area features what is known as The Wall, a 51-row section with strict rules designed to ensure only Clippers fans are admitted — through restrictions on ticket resale and the wearing of opposing team gear. An immersive sound system measures levels not just for the arena, but for every seat, each of which comes with its own USB port.
The Dome is also highlighted by a public art collection of works created by local artists, including murals, sculptures and digital displays.
Time also named the new $75 million wing of the National History Museum to its list.
The 75,000-square-foot NHM Commons is a community space that aims to bring the outdoors inside with a glass facade that opens the museum to Exposition Park outside.
"The new Commons Plaza serves as a vibrant gathering place with a courtyard, amphitheater, and garden," Time wrote.
