Manchester United fans’ telling reaction to Patrick Dorgu spoke volumes after the Red Devils star’s display against La Liga side Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
The Red Devils were in action at Old Trafford on Thursday evening and Manchester United thumped 10-man Real Sociedad 4-1 in their second-leg Europa League tie.
Sociedad took the lead in the opening 10 minutes after Mikel Oyarzabal scored from the spot-kick before Bruno Fernandes equalised with his penalty six minutes later.
Bruno Fernandes would then fire United into the lead from a second spot-kick only five minutes into the second half before Sociedad were reduced to 10 men.
Jon Aramburu was sent off for his challenge on Joshua Zirkzee and Fernandes would complete a captain’s performance with his hat-trick late in the second half.
Diogo Dalot scored the Red Devils’ fourth in injury time and United completed their 4-1 thrashing of Sociedad in their second-leg Europa League round-of-16 clash.

What Man Utd fans noticed from Patrick Dorgu at Old Trafford vs Real Sociedad in the Europa League
Patrick Dorgu returned to the Manchester United starting XI for the Europa League match at Old Trafford and he deeply impressed with his superb performance.
The 20-year-old Danish wing-back missed United’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford last Sunday due to his red card suspension.
However, Ruben Amorim was eligible to pick Dorgu for the crucial Europa League tie and the United defender was in his element against Real Sociedad.
Dorgu, who was signed from Serie A outfit Lecce in February, was lively in attack and caused real havoc for the Sociedad defence from the left side.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, waxed lyrical about the Denmark international’s display over the 90 minutes at Old Trafford.
Red Devils supporters pointed out that Dorgu is the perfect type of player who has now ‘unlocked’ Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for United as a real wing-back option.
One X user wrote: “Dorgu is moulding into [a] Ruben wing-back. Guy is insane.”
“Dorgu has unlocked this system, man,” another tweeted.
While a third United fan said: “Get Ruben his men and see his work flourish. Dorgu, you’re a life-changer.”
Someone else commented: “Pat Dorgu, such a Ruben Amorim signing. He’s good with the ball on his feet, always overlapping at the right time.”
A fifth claimed: “The contrast between Dorgu and Dalot is absolutely massive. Already looks a perfect fit for Ruben’s system.”
“Dorgu was phenomenal tonight. Simply phenomenal,” somebody else posted.
Another added: “Patrick Dorgu is a genuine talent who provides compelling evidence that if Amorim is allowed to buy players for his system, he can bring success to Old Trafford.”
And an eighth Red Devils supporter suggested: “Amorim’s first signing was Dorgu. Can’t wait to see who he brings in.”

Dion Dublin’s assessment of Man Utd performance vs Real Sociedad will be music to fans’ ears
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, former United player Dion Dublin claimed there was not a single “bad performance” from Ruben Amorim’s men on Thursday evening.
“Rasmus Hojlund is trying so hard to score,” he said, as per BBC Sport.
“I don’t think there was any bad performance from any Manchester United players.
“It was like watching Manchester United again.”
United are now through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League and the Red Devils will host French side Lyon at Old Trafford for their first-leg tie on 10th April.
