President of Uzbekistan and Speaker of French National Assembly discuss developing interparliamentary cooperation
AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Speaker of the French National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet in Paris on March 13, UzA reported.
The sides considered further development of interparliamentary exchanges between the two countries.
The parties expressed deep satisfaction with the historic significance of the visit, which resulted in establishing a strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and France.
The Speaker of the lower house of the French Parliament praised the democratic reforms in Uzbekistan.
Discussions also covered the creation of an Uzbekistan – France Interparliamentary Forum and resuming friendship groups based on a roadmap for cooperation.
The President of Uzbekistan invited the Speaker of the National Assembly to visit Uzbekistan and participate in the 150th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will be held in Tashkent this April.
