Manchester United progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Thursday night with a 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.
After falling behind to an early penalty from Mikel Oyarzabal, who also scored from 12 yards in the first leg, United responded via two penalties of their own, both of which were dispatched by Bruno Fernandes.
He brought United level on the night and in the tie after 16 minutes before converting his second spot kick of the evening five minutes after half-time. He then completed a hat-trick with 87 minutes on the clock.
Diogo Dalot then put the icing on the cake by netting a fourth in stoppage time to secure a 5-2 win on aggregate.
United were on top from the very first whistle of the second half and their hopes of reaching the last-eight were boosted when Sociedad substitute Jon Aramburu was sent-off seven minutes after coming off the bench for a foul on Patrick Dorgu.
The Reds' reward for getting the job done is a quarter-final tie with French side Lyon next month. They cruised past FCSB in their round-of-16 tie, winning 4-0 this evening and 7-1 on aggregate.
