Washington Commanders Free Agency: WR Olamide Zaccheaus signs 1-year deal with the Bears

After four consecutive increasingly productive seasons in Atlanta (where he started out with then-head coach Dan Quinn), Zaccheaus went to Philadelphia in free agency in 2023 and disappeared, seeing just 20 targets in the Eagles offense.

When he came to Washington to reunite with Quinn a year ago, expectations were low based on that unproductive season in Philly.

Zaccheaus responded with 45 catches, 506 yards and 3 touchdowns on 64 targets, and he was instrumental in the Commanders offense for much of the season. He also filled in as a punt returner when needed, returning 6 punts with a 10.4 yard average, including one significant return of 24 yards.

It seemed likely that he would be back in Washington in 2025, but it seems things did not work out that way, and he now heads to Chicago to try to help another young quarterback develop into a consistent winner. No details of his contract have yet been reported.

> Surprised that Olamide Zaccheaus wasn’t re-signed. Tough. Massive effort player. Team oriented. Was productive when called upon. But with Deebo here and Noah Brown back and a young WR in McCaffrey his role would have changed some this season.
