Bills’ Rookie Receiver Reacts To ‘Roller Coaster’ Season

His first season may not have been what he expected, but Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman still showed plenty of upside for the organization to be pleased with how everything went.

The second-round rookie from April's Draft recorded 29 receptions for 556 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games, but missed several games and was limited with a significant wrist injury.

Based on that reality, a "roller coaster" of a rookie year is the perfect way to describe how things went for the Florida State product.

"Be where your feet are. Hold yourself even to a different level when it comes to accountability and discipline. [I've] got to step even higher," Coleman said while appearing on the 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony podcast. "After my first two games, my expectations was (high). I like to manage that because I have to be realistic. They didn't go the way that I wanted to go, but I'm thinking about too much other stuff."

The next step for Coleman will to be more consistent and more dependable in an offense led by Josh Allen and other receivers like Joshua Palmer and Khalil Shakir leading the way.

At the very least, though, Allen believes great things are still coming for Coleman.

"When I was going through his college tape, I thought he was kind of a mix between like a Michael Thomas and a Dez Bryant," Allen said. "Obviously big guy, great body control, and I think Dez and Michael Thomas have that great body control. I think he's up there with them."

Buffalo wants more from their second round rookie and it looks like the wideout is expecting that of himself as well.
