The Golden State Warriors are currently taking on the Sacramento Kings at home as they try to push their winning streak to six games.
Golden State entered Thursday's game as one of the hottest teams in the NBA as they have won nine of their last 10 games and have climbed to sixth in the Western Conference standings.
While this game is a massive one of the Warriors, it has been overshadowed by their star point guard's chase for NBA history.
Stephen Curry entered Thursday's contest needing to knock down just two three-pointers to reach an astounding 4,000 career threes made in the regular season. By doing so, he would become the first player in league history to accomplish the impressive feat.
After knocking down his first triple of the game early in the first quarter, Curry was then able to knock down his 4,000th career three in the third quarter.
This is an impressive milestone for Curry who has been deemed by many as the greatest shooter in NBA history, for good reason as his 4,000 career threes and counting are the most in league history.
After hitting his 4,000th career three in the third quarter, the Warriors made a statement about Curry's record-setting shot with a post on social media.
"4,000 career regular-season threes. Once unimaginable, now reality. Game changed, FOREVER," the Warriors posted on X after Curry's record-breaking three.

Golden State perfectly summed up Curry's record breaking shot as 4,000 career threes was once thought to never happen, but of course Curry is the one to achieve it as he continues to set new shooting records.
Curry will now look to extend his three-point record throughout the rest of his future Hall of Fame career and it would not be surprising if he eventually becomes the first player in NBA history to reach 5,000 career threes.
Of course, it all depends on how long Curry decides to play for, but there is no doubt that once he retires, his career three-point record may become nearly unbreakable for players in the future.
