Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James recently made history as the first player ever to reach 50,000 career points in the NBA. On Thursday night, it was Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry's time to set a record himself.
Against the Sacramento Kings, Curry became the first NBA player to reach 4,000 triples in the regular season. He entered the game two 3-pointers away from the milestone mark, and as expected, he got what he needed.
Although it took some time, Curry hit his second triple of the night with over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter. After receiving a pass from Moses Moody, the 36-year-old marksman launched the ball from 27 feet away and made the historic shot.
The Warriors quickly reacted to Curry's accomplishment on social media, posting a rather powerful message to celebrate his feat.
"4,000 career regular-season threes. Once unimaginable, now reality. Game changed, FOREVER," the Warriors wrote.

Stephen Curry has certainly cemented his status as the greatest shooter of all time, and it might be difficult for anyone to take that title from him.
On the all-time 3-points list, James Harden trails him at No. 2, but the Los Angeles Clippers star is a little over 800 triples behind him.
It's also worth noting that Curry has made 618 3-pointers in the postseason in his NBA career. With that said, in terms of his overall tally, he's close to breaching the 5,000 triples mark.
Indeed, it's hard to imagine anyone surpassing Curry in 3-point shooting any time soon.
