Manchester United had the best performance yet under Ruben Amorim on Thursday night.
After months of struggling to find the net, Real Sociedad faced a Manchester United side which finally seemed to click with a dominant display.
It was a performance which was long overdue for Ruben Amorim and will have lifted a massive weight from his shoulders as it proved the system can work.
During United’s 4-1 win over Sociedad, it was Bruno Fernandes who was the clear star of the show as he scored a hat-trick for the second time in his United career.
However, the performance also saw several United players shine, with some finding form for the first time in months.
This left Old Trafford in awe of the display that was so much better than anything seen in months, with Fernandes’ name being sung post-game.

Bruno Fernandes praises Rasmus Hojlund’s role in Manchester United win
United’s captain proved once again why he is one of the world’s very best players on his day as he put on a clinic against Sociedad.
Despite likely being caught in the emotion of claiming the match-ball, speaking after the game, Fernandes was sure to showcase his leadership qualities as well, raving over the performance of Rasmus Hojlund.

The United striker, Hojlund is in the midst of a goal drought but showed signs against Sociedad that he could come good.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Fernandes spoke glowingly about the display Hojlund put in, pointing out how he was key.
“He’s a striker. It’s all about goals, he’s going to be criticised for not scoring but in the dressing room, we want him to score as many as he can.
“He got the penalty for the first goal, for my third he took the defender with him. There’s a lot of things he does which don’t get seen from the outside world, but we see it. We see how much he wants to work and score, and I’m sure the goals will come.”
Rasmus Hojlund has best performance in months for Manchester United
There is no way of sugar-coating things, Hojlund is on thin ice at United with his form in front of goal and all-around displays meaning he is on the chopping block this summer.
However, if the Denmark international intends to fight for his future, Thursday night was an excellent start, as Fernandes said.

Hojlund came agonisingly close to ending his long wait for a goal, but the assist will be absolutely huge for his confidence from now on ahead of facing Leicester City on Sunday.
The positive performance was more than just his assist and chances; Hojlund also made the correct runs and got involved in the build-up throughout which he has not done for a long time.
It was much improved, and he will hope to continue this weekend and ensure that a corner has been turned.
