'His speed': MUTV pundit says Man Utd star was 'brilliant' against Real Sociedad, he caused 'danger' with key 'skill'

Manchester United had several standout performers during Thursday’s 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.

After a storm lasting months, Ruben Amorim will finally have some confidence that his team have turned a corner after a dominant 4-1 thrashing of the La Liga side at Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s whole team was impressive in unison which led to the big win, but Bruno Fernandes was without a doubt star of the show.

Fernandes scored three goals as he put in a performance that fans will reminisce over in the coming years, but Parick Dorgu was United’s unsung hero with his display.

The performances on the left side were impressive, with MUTV’s Ben Thornley impressed with Ayden Heaven as he put in a pretty dominant performance making his £1.5m price look ridiculously cheap.

Casemiro also caught the eye for United as his resurgence continued, with Amorim admitting post-game that he has learned how to use the Brazilian.

Wes Brown says Patrick Dorgu was top-class against Real Sociedad

In the game, Dorgu was an absolute sensation for Amorim’s Red Devils as he put in a statement-making performance which left the MUTV studio in awe.

Wes Brown was on punditry duty alongside Danny Webber, with both being wowed by the way Dorgu played.

“Listen, I think he started it off for us by making the runs”, Brown explained. “The lads know now from training with him that he’s quick and if they play a ball into that space, he’s going to get there and he’s gonna cause danger.

“He’s also got the skill to knock it by his man. Every opportunity he got he was running, he turned the other team and got us forward and then we started creating chances.

“Dorgu, today he was brilliant. It’s his speed, he’s got good close control and his teammates are starting to understand what he’s good at, and he’s good at running.”

Brown was joined in praise for Dorgu by Webber who loved the moment when Dorgu got a Sociedad defender sent off due to his running.

“He sets off well before the challenge, and he was gone and their defender was just scrambling.

“It’s the intention, the vigour that he goes with. There were times he had the ball and his close control was really good and he got himself out of situations.

“He’s brought real balance to the team. He’s got loads to learn he’s 20 years old, but the foundations are there.”

After the game, Amorim admitted that he was ‘proud’ of the performance Dorgu put in, while the Denmark international himself was also doing media duties.

Speaking with club media, Dorgu was asked about the benefits of playing with footballers like Fernandes.

“It’s easy to play with this kind of player. He has so many qualities. It’s easy for other players.”

Continuing, Dorgu joked that he is working on his finishing, nodding to his captain’s goal-scoring as something he can learn from.

“Bruno [Fernandes] is teaching me little things, so it will come [his goal].”
