Chelsea reach agreement to sign 'very talented' attacker as medical is completed, he'll join in 2026 - journalist

Chelsea have reportedly wrapped up a deal to sign a highly-rated young attacker in 2026.

The obvious transfer strategy under this Chelsea ownership has been to go out and sign some of the world’s very best rising stars. For example, 17-year-old pair Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez will both officially become Blues players in the summer of 2025.

Paez is already training at Cobham as he gets a head start on his summer arrival.

Fresh transfer rumours on Friday morning claim that Chelsea have done it again by completing a deal for another young talent.

It was claimed back in October 2024 that Chelsea scouts went to watch Quenda perform in the Champions League group stages for Sporting.

Despite only being aged 17, he’s actually been an important first-team player for the Portuguese giants this season. The skilful winger, who can play on the left or right wing, has a wand of a left foot.

What Ruben Amorim previously said about Geovany Quenda

This breaking transfer news with Quenda has pretty much come out of nowhere on Friday morning, so Chelsea supporters will be desperately trying to find out some information about their new recruit.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim, who coached the young winger at Sporting, delivered an interesting verdict on him earlier in the season.

Back in October 2024, Amorim raved about Quenda via O Jogo: “He’s a very talented kid, very strong physically, very focused, with his feet firmly on the ground. That’s very important for a young player…

“I think he has to improve a lot in his finishing. The amount of times he comes inside and shoots over the bar… He doesn’t put the ball in the goal well, that’s a detail he has to improve…

“I think he’s going to be a great player, but let’s give it time.”

The Chelsea fanbase are now sure to be keeping a very close eye on what Quenda does in Sporting colours from now until the end of next season.
