'Really good stadium': £19m Everton target names Goodison Park as the perfect place for him to…

Everton will be looking to make some big moves in the summer transfer window.

The January market was a quiet one across the board, with Everton taking a sensible approach due to their PSR limitations.

David Moyes admitted Everton were hamstrung by PSR, which shocked him by how poor the club’s financial situation actually was.

The work done on Merseyside under the Friedkins has been mightily impressive as the Toffees have managed to pull well clear of the relegation battle.

But money is going to have to be spent over the summer if they are to continue their development under the new owners.

And there is one of Moyes’ summer targets who has just admitted Goodison Park is a place he would like to play more often.

Everton target Tomas Soucek loves playing at Goodison Park

On Saturday, Moyes will coming up against some familiar faces as West Ham make the trip north to Merseyside.

One of the faces he will see is Everton summer target Tomas Soucek as the Hammers look to pull above the Toffees in the table.

Speaking ahead of the game on the weekend, Soucek has told the West Ham website that playing away to Everton is something he absolutely loves.

“I also scored on my first ever visit to Goodison Park, on the day everyone remembers me talking about potato salad! I have a lot of good memories there, and I just hope I can have one more good memory in our last game there on Saturday,” he said.

“It’s a really good stadium, with a good atmosphere, and it’s the kind of place I like to play because you can tell there’s a lot of history. So, I hope we can make our last trip a good one.”

Everton wanted to sign a midfielder in January, and they added an attacking option in Carlos Alcaraz.

However, with numerous players’ futures still uncertain, Moyes could well look to reunite with one of his former players from the London Stadium.

Soucek could become Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure replacement

With the end of the season only a matter of weeks away, it is now being suggested Everton will not extend Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract.

Soucek would certainly provide Everton with a similar fit to the Mali midfielder, and he is a player who Moyes knows extremely well after signing him for £19m.

It has been another solid season from the Czech international who continues to prove a real goal threat in a struggling West Ham side.

Although signing in the summer would not see the 30-year-old able to play at Goodison Park, it seems he would thrive playing in front of the Everton fans.
