All the talk heading into this summer surrounds the future of forward Matheus Cunha, whose incredible form has attracted the interest of many.
Cunha is enjoying a career-best campaign in 2024/25, scoring 15 goals in all competitions while laying on four assists.
Some big clubs want to sign Cunha at the end of the season, with Wolves inserting a £62.5 million release clause into his contract.
There is almost an acceptance that the 25-year-old will bid his farewell to Molineux, but supporters won’t accept a fire sale, as they’ll want to keep their other key players.
Sadly, with other top-flight clubs circling, particularly for midfielder Joao Gomes, it could be an anxious summer ahead for the Old Gold.

Wolves set Joao Gomes asking price amid Liverpool interest
As revealed exclusively by Molineux News, Gomes could leave Wolves, as several top sides have registered an interest in the Brazil international.
Previously, Gomes has been linked to Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and other European giants, but it wasn’t known how much he would cost.
According to Gazete du Urubu, the 24-year-old is now ‘close to Liverpool’, and his former club Flamengo would receive 10% of the transfer plus another 4% through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism.

The report claims that Wolves value Gomes at £50 million, meaning the Brazilian side would receive £7 million of that transfer.
Most supporters of the Premier League strugglers would agree that their midfield dynamo is worth more than £50m, although it could be impossible to stand in his way if Liverpool come calling.
It was Gomes’ dream to join Liverpool before Wolves
In January 2023, Wolves sealed a £15m transfer for Gomes from Flamengo. Interestingly, only five months earlier in August 2022, Gomes outlined his ‘dream’ to join Liverpool.
“Liverpool is a team I would play for,” he said. “I have the greatest desire to play. Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream and my family’s, my biggest dream in football.”
The ball-winning machine instead joined Wolves in a relegation battle and has been a fan favourite ever since.
But the above comments from Gomes amid interest from the Reds will worry supporters, and make them believe he’s destined to move to Anfield one day.
Hopefully, that won’t be in the summer however, Wolves could be powerless to prevent him making the switch if their asking price is triggered.
