Thomas Tuchel names first England squad as Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson decisions made

Thomas Tuchel has recalled Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson in his first England squad since being named new Three Lions boss.

The German has rewarded Rashford for his upturn in form since leaving Manchester United for a loan spell with Aston Villa in January. The forward has helped the Villans into the last eight of the FA Cup and Champions League.

Henderson, meanwhile, has been handed a shock international lifeline. The former Liverpool captain is included after Tuchel watched him play for Ajax in the Netherlands.

However, Jack Grealish has been left out. The Manchester City winger has struggled for form and minutes this term in an underwhelming campaign for Pep Guardiola's side as they battle to finish in the top five.

Elsewhere, Arsenal teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly has received a maiden call-up, but fellow Gunners youngster Ethan Nwaneri has been left out. Newcastle's towering defender Dan Burn also receives a first call-up at the age of 32.

Villa flier Morgan Rogers and Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah are included after impressing for their clubs this season. Quansah was named in the provisional 33-man squad for Euro 2024 but didn't make the final cut.

England veteran Kyle Walker is named following his move from Manchester City to AC Milan in January. Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is overlooked.
