On March 7, 2025, Chinese ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing and Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa unveiled the Logo Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of China-Samoa Diplomatic Relations.
The logo embodies the modern continuation of the Maritime Silk Road and a contemporary interpretation of Polynesian culture. Visually, it integrates the brick patterns of the Great Wall, the blue-and-white porcelain motifs of China, and the woven patterns of Samoa, symbolizing the fusion of both cultures. The national flowers of China and Samoa intertwine within the design. The color scheme features a harmonious gradient of Chinese red, blue-and-white porcelain, and the vibrant green of the ocean. The number "50" is shaped as a Möbius band, signifying the everlasting friendship between the two countries. Overall, the logo reflects the mutual learning between civilizations and the shared vision of cooperation and development. The logo was designed by friendly individuals from both China and Samoa and was selected through an online voting.
