WARRINGTON-BORN Jarell Quansah has been named in the latest England men’s senior squad.

The Liverpool defender, who played his junior football at Woolston Rovers, is included in the first squad named by new England boss Thomas Tuchel and would be winning his first senior cap should he feature in either of the two games later this month.

The Three Lions kick off their qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup with home matches against Albania and Latvia at Wembley.

Quansah has represented England at every age group from under 16s through to the under 21s, and was a key part of the under 19s side that won the European Championships in 2022.

He was called into an extended senior squad by the now-former England boss Gareth Southgate to prepare for Euro 2024, but he was left out of the final party that travelled to Germany.

He has continued to feature regularly for the Liverpool first team under Arne Slot this year, making 21 appearances in all competitions.
