Some weeks ago, Leicester City were mentioned as a potential destination for Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito.
The youngster is currently on loan at Serie B side Spezia and has found the back of the net 14 times in 26 league games.
An update has now emerged about the 19-year-old’s long-term future at Inter Milan, and Leicester City get a mention.
TuttoSport have reported today that the Foxes, Manchester United and Napoli have been among the interested parties, but the Nerazzurri have now made the decision to extend his contract at the Giuseppe Meazza.
They have made the choice to reject any advances from Leicester City or Manchester United, having spoken to his agent about a new deal.
Now, the expectation is that Esposito will sign a new deal in the next few days and an agreement has already been reached between the two parties.
Inter’s goal is to make sure that the teenager plays for them at the Club World Cup at the end of the season.
They see him as a ‘top player’ and want to secure his future. Leicester City would now have to look at other targets.
