Palestine, Chile sign three agreements, MoUs to enhance bilateral cooperation

Palestine and Chile have signed three agreements and memoranda of understanding in agricultural, customs, and diplomatic cooperation.

This took place in Chile's capital, Santiago, after a meeting between Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Varsen Aghabekian Shahin and Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs Alberto van Klaveren.

The meeting discussed ways and prospects for strengthening bilateral relations at all levels, intensifying political dialogue between the two countries, and the need for joint action to ensure the success of the international peace conference to be held in New York next June.

Minister van Klaveren affirmed his country's readiness to strengthen trade, economic, and political relations at all levels.

Shahin, for her part, stressed the need to raise the level of Chile's representation to an embassy, which reflects the advanced level of bilateral relations between the two countries and complements Chile's recognition of the State of Palestine.
