Putin Sent Trump ‘Additional Signals’ Ahead of Call: Kremlin

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has sent "additional signals" to U.S. President Donald Trump via his envoy Steve Witkoff, the Kremlin said.

Putin and Witkoff met in Moscow to discuss a 30-day ceasefire proposal in Russia's war on Ukraine. The proposal was agreed by the U.S. and Ukraine at talks in Saudi Arabia.

Trump and Putin are due to hold a call, though the timing is yet to be agreed, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Russian state media RIA and Tass reported Peskov's remarks.

Peskov also said Russia had received additional information from the U.S. He said the cautious optimism on Ukraine is justified.

He added that while Putin is supportive of Trump's push for a peace settlement in Ukraine, there remained questions that needed answers.

This is a developing story and more information will be added shortly.
