The five Leeds United players Stuart Dallas picked when asked to select his fantasy five-a-side team

A few legends feature in Stuart Dallas’ Leeds United fantasy five-a-side team, including a certain James Milner.

James Milner is still plugging away in the Premier League at the incredible age of 39, now 23 years on from making his senior debut with hometown team Leeds United.

He’s certainly laid the pathway for youngsters coming through the ranks at Leeds United right now and there’s a handful of players who could go on to have a similar career, including the likes of Archie Gray.

Leeds United sold Gray to Spurs last summer in a £30million deal and the teenager has since established himself as a comfortable Premier League player, in an unfamiliar centre-back role as well.

But who makes Dallas’ fantasy Leeds United five-a-side team?

Who Stuart Dallas picked in his fantasy Leeds United five-a-side team

During an interview with the club back in 2021, Stuart Dallas picked his fantasy Leeds United five-a-side team, given a £15million budget with different players valued at different amounts. But the first name to make his team was Milner, who Dallas said he ‘watched quite a bit’ when plying his trade.

And Dallas wanted to partner Milner with the late Gary Speed who Dallas went on to describe as a ‘legend’. Then up front, Dallas opted for Tony Yeboah, adding: “I reckon he would get me a few goals”.

In defence was Gary Kelly and in goal was Scott Carson, who at the same age as Milner is also still playing in the Premier League, as a reserve goalkeeper with reigning champions Manchester City. Dallas said of the two-time Champions League winner: “Great career as well.”

Who makes the current Leeds United five-a-side team?

Leeds certainly have quality in their ranks right now, and they’d make for a formidable five-a-side team that would have to start with Illan Meslier in goal, although it’s been a tough season on the whole for the Frenchman.

In a 1-2-1 set up, Joe Rodon could shore up the defence and then perhaps Joe Rothwell in midfield, after his Man of the Match performance against Millwall, alongside Ao Tanaka. In attack would have to be top scorer Joel Piroe.

Up next for Daniel Farke’s side is a trip down to West London to face QPR in what is their final game before the Mark international break. Meanwhile, 2nd place Sheffield United face neighbours Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
