Patrick Dorgu showed the ultimate character with one thing that he did during Manchester United’s Europa League clash against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.
Manchester United knocked Real Sociedad out of the Europa League and Ruben Amorim’s men punched their ticket to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Following United’s 4-1 thumping of Real Sociedad in their second-leg last-16 tie, the Red Devils will now face French outfit Lyon in the last eight of the Europa League.
Ruben Amorim’s side will travel to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais for their first-leg clash on 10th April before welcoming Lyon to Old Trafford on 17th April.
Sociedad dealt the first blow on Thursday night after Mikel Oyarzabal converted from the spot-kick in the 10th minute of the Europa League tie at Old Trafford.
United rallied back against the La Liga club and Bruno Fernandes’ stunning hat-trick ensured the Red Devils’ progression to the Europa League quarter-finals.
Bruno Fernandes cancelled out Mikel Oyarzabal’s opener in the first half from the spot-kick before he scored a second penalty for United after the break.

Patrick Dorgu showed his true personality during Man Utd win vs Real Sociedad in Europa League
Patrick Dorgu impressed Manchester United fans on Thursday and the 20-year-old Danish wing-back was a constant threat down the left flank against Real Sociedad.
The United and Denmark defender saw out the full 90 minutes and showed the full potential of Ruben Amorim’s tactical system at United in the Europe League match.
Referee Benoit Bastien pointed to the spot for the fourth time in the match when Sociedad right-back Hamari Traore brought down United star Dorgu in the box.
However, VAR would intervene and ruled out Benoit Bastien’s decision, with United only 2-1 up at the time in the second half of the second-leg round-of-16 encounter.
TNT Sports has now shared footage of Dorgu, who arrived at Old Trafford in February, approaching Bastien and appearing to tell him that it was not a penalty.

What Ruben Amorim said on Man Utd star Patrick Dorgu speaking to the referee about the penalty call
Speaking after the match at Old Trafford, United manager Amorim admitted that former Lecce defender Dorgu did the “right thing” by speaking to referee Benoit Bastien.
“It depends. It is the right thing to do,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“So, I am quite proud of him, but it depends. I cannot say if it is 0-0 or we are losing if I would have the same response!
“So, he did well. He did a great performance and he was improving during the game. He is learning a lot in that position.
“He has that physicality and he is clearly able to be able to play in our league. So, it was a good game and it was a good action from Dorgu.”
Dorgu and former Arsenal talent Ayden Heaven both arrived in the January transfer window and were Amorim’s first major signings as United manager.
