Arne Slot will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold for Liverpool’s game against Newcastle United on Sunday.
The Magpies are looking to end a 70-year wait for a trophy in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday but they have to defeat the defending Champions to do so.
Newcastle United are missing three key players for the trip to Wembley Stadium, with Anthony Gordon suspended and defender Lewis Hall out injured. It was also confirmed that Sven Botman will miss the Carabao Cup final after picking up a knee injury in February.
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold came off injured against PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday night, it took the defender four minutes to walk from the touchline to the tunnel after picking up an ankle injury.
It has since been confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will miss the Carabao Cup final with the injury in what is a huge blow for Reds boss Arne Slot who is looking to win his first trophy since becoming Liverpool boss.
With Slot without one of his key players, he has provided a fresh update on another star who was a concern after their defeat to PSG.

Arne Slot provides Carabao Cup final injury update
Newcastle go into the final with confidence after beating West Ham United on Monday night. Toon boss Eddie Howe was visibly delighted on the touchline after his side picked up the win, kept a clean sheet and reported back a clean bill of health ahead of the Liverpool game.
Liverpool were taken to penalties in what was a high-intensity game against PSG, they ended up losing the game with Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones missing their spot-kicks.

Defender Ibrahima Konate was another casualty of the game, limping off in extra time.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Slot was asked for an injury update for his players.
“Maybe Curtis can play (right-back). Trent is indeed not available, he won’t be there at the final. He is still to be assessed for how long it’s going to take but we do expect him back before for the season’s end.
“Ibou Konate, we didn’t train yesterday, it was a day off and the day before was recovery, I expect him to train with us today but let’s see how he is.”
Eddie Howe gives Newcastle injury update
Newcastle have struggled with injury problems in recent times, but thankfully they look to be over the worst of it, despite Hall and Botman’s absences.
Howe also spoke to press ahead of Sunday’s final, where he provided an update on player fitness.
“Lewis Hall and Sven Botman are recovering after their operations, Anthony is suspended, but apart from that we hope to have the full squad.”

Alexander Isak has been a concern after missing the Magpies’ visit to Anfield at the end of February, but the Swede will also be fit and ready for the final. Fans will be hoping Isak can etch himself into Newcastle’s history books with a top performance on Sunday.
