Alexander Isak has confidently declared that he can achieve all his football dreams at Newcastle United.
Amidst heavy speculation linking him with Arsenal and Liverpool, the Sweden international was quizzed on whether he could fulfil his career ambitions at St James' Park, and his response was emphatic. "That's why I came here," he said.
Isak, who has three years left on his Newcastle contract, confirmed that talks about his future will take place at the end of the season, with the Magpies eager to tie him down as some of Europe's biggest clubs circle. The 25-year-old has been on fire this season, scoring 22 goals in 32 games in all competitions.
Speaking candidly ahead of Sunday's Carabao Cup final clash with Liverpool, Isak expressed his openness to future contract negotiations, telling reporters: "Yeah, as I have said, I am not really thinking about the summer yet. That will be a talking point when the season is finished. No talks have been held yet."
When asked about his ambitions and whether he'd be able to achieve them at Newcastle, he said: "I mean, that is why I came here. I have said many times that I don't really think too much about my future. I have said many times I am happy here and we are competing for titles which is what you want as a football player. We have been to one final and now we are in another one.
"The chances are there. We should look at it one season at a time, and this season we can win a trophy. I have said many times I am focused on doing a job. All of our focus is on Sunday and bringing a trophy back."
Isak also spoke about his personal goals, adding: "I just want to be the best version of myself. I have high ambitions. I am trying to create my own history at Newcastle.

"Happy with what I have done so far but always looking forward. It's hard work and training and the mentality to want to get better. I have ambitions to achieve in my career and be the best version of myself."
Newcastle have the chance to win their first major trophy since 1969 at Wembley this weekend, and Isak says he's "feeling good" and "excited" about the final. "The best way to prepare is to train as normal. It will come down to what we do as a team, and that is all we can focus on. I am excited but focused on the job," he insisted.
When asked about Newcastle's 70-year domestic trophy drought, Isak remained undaunted: "I wish it wasn't that way. It means a lot that we have the chance to change that. We have to be focused on the game and not let the fact that the club hasn't won anything for a long time get to us."
Isak has faced Liverpool five times in his career, scoring three goals. The latest was an absolutely stunning strike from outside the box during Newcastle's 3-3 draw with the Reds at St James' Park in December.
