It’s been added that Quenda has agreed to join Chelsea in 2026 and not in the 2025 summer transfer window. Romano also reports that the Blues have completed an agreement with Sporting CP for the transfer, even though the exact finances of the deal aren’t mentioned. He also adds that the 17-year-old has personally accepted Chelsea’s future project for him and also to Enzo Maresca’s plans on how to use him for the future. This comes after seeing the teenager impress for the Portuguese side this season, with the 17-year-old having been given his breakthrough by Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea have not only improved their full-back position for the long-term but seem to have beaten a Premier League rival with this reported agreement too. That is because Manchester United have been strongly linked to Quenda this season, mostly because of Ruben Amorim having worked with him at Sporting and being an admirer of the wingback.
It was even reported that the Red Devils were exploring a summer move for the wingback to improve their depth of options in the wide areas. However, Chelsea seem to have worked smartly behind the scenes to hijack their deal instead.

The 17-year-old can be a valuable asset for Chelsea, as he can not only play in both wingback areas, but is also a troublesome winger who can play further forward on both sides of the pitch. Earlier in the 2024/25 season, Quenda became Sporting CP’s youngest-ever goalscorer (at 17 years, 95) days in a 3-2 loss to FC Porto. He has made 43 appearances for the Portuguese side in the campaign, scoring two goals and providing eight assists across all competitions.
