Ajax prodigy to solve Liverpool’s defensive woe next season?

Daily Mail reporter Lewis Steele revealed that Liverpool wants Ajax star Jorrel Hato in the summer to bolster their defence. Steele highlighted Bournemouth fullback Milos Kerkez as a main target for the left-back position that has faced scrutiny at Liverpool.

The 31-year-old Andy Robertson has regressed in the last two seasons, failing to maintain his legendary consistency level at Liverpool. Meanwhile, Robertson’s competition, Kostas Tsimikas, has failed to usurp the Scotsman despite his struggle with form, summing up Tsimikas’s struggles.

The Greek international lacks consistency and has faced nagging injuries in the last two seasons, which further hampered his chances. Tsimikas faces potential exit in the summer as Robertson brings experience and leadership, which makes him important for the squad.

Writing in his Daily Mail Liverpool Confidential column, Steele highlighted Ajax star Hato as a potential target aside from Kerkez. The 19-year-old’s age, versatility, and physical stature, along with his quality and incredible potential, makes him a very intriguing target.

Despite his young age, Hato has acquired immense experience with Ajax, making 102 appearances with four goals and nine assists. The Dutchman has already played for his international team, showcasing a steep rise in the footballing world along with reputation.

Hato has already captained Ajax, which highlights his mental prowess and leadership quality at such a young age. Liverpool head coach Arne Slot plays numerous tactics within a game, using players in various roles within a position.

Hato fits the profile that Slot desires as the Dutch defender can play as a left-back, centre-back and defensive midfielder. Furthermore, the Dutchman possess the physical qualities like strength, height and pace to hold his own in the Premier League.
