David Moyes has shared an update on Armando Broja as Everton face West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Albanian striker has been out injured for a considerable period this season, and the Scottish manager has been unable to rely on him since his return to the Toffees.

Broja arrived at Goodison Park on loan from Chelsea last summer, but fitness issues have seen him struggle for regular game time this season.

Beto has been Moyes’ go-to striker in recent matches, and the Guinea-Bissau star hasn’t let the 61-year-old head coach down.

Moyes is looking to continue the Blues’ unbeaten run in the English top flight, and the Chelsea loanee could potentially play a part against the Hammers.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference via the club’s X (14 March), the Scotsman said: “Yeah, [Broja] is in and around it. It’s a bit like Youssef Chermiti and Seamus Coleman; they’ve had another five or six days of training, whereas Broja is just back in and among it. Just getting closer. But hopefully, we will be able to get him on the bench for [West Ham] game.”

West Ham to pose threat at Goodison Park

West Ham may pose a threat at Goodison Park as they will look to get over their recent disappointing result against Newcastle United.

Graaham Potter’s team had been on an impressive run before losing 1-0 to the Magpies in the Premier League on 10 March.

Moyes extended the Merseyside outfit’s unbeaten run in the English top flight after the 1-1 draw against Wolves at Molineux Stadium on 8 March.

Beto has been ever-present in the Scottish manager’s starting lineups, as he’s the only fit natural striker in the squad.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been on the sidelines for several weeks now, while Chermiti hasn’t featured for the senior team this season.

Broja seemed to be Sean Dyche’s preferred number nine after he was available for selection, but it remains to be seen whether Moyes will also rely on him.

There’s no doubt the 23-year-old possesses a lot of potential, but his consistent fitness issues make him a liability, making his permanent transfer this summer unlikely.
