Vikings Agree to Terms with LB Eric Wilson

After making some significant splashes on defense early in free agency, the Minnesota Vikings are looking to add to their depth, and are doing so by bringing back a familiar face.

Alec Lewis of The Athletic is reporting that the Vikings have agreed to a deal with linebacker Eric Wilson, the terms of which were not immediately available.

Wilson started his NFL career with the Vikings, signing with them as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati in 2017. He appeared in all 64 regular season games in his first tour with the Vikings, including getting 15 starts at linebacker in 2020. After that, he split the 2021 season between the Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles before playing the past three seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Last season, Wilson was a core special teamer for Green Bay while also logging over 500 snaps on the defensive side of the ball. With Kamu Grugier-Hill a free agent, Wilson could fill a similar role with the Vikings behind Blake Cashman and Ivan Pace Jr. at the linebacker spot.

We’re still tracking everything the Vikings are doing in free agency on our Free Agency Tracker, and we’ll make every effort to have those stories to you as soon as they break.
