Marcus Thuram: A“world-class”striker on cards of Arsenal

The Gunners are eyeing a move for Marcus Thuram, once compared to Thierry Henry by Arsene Wenger.

Could Marcus Thuram solve striker crisis at the Emirates?

**Arsenal**‘s 1-1 draw with Man Utd at Old Trafford on Sunday has been the major talking point this week. While Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville doubting their decision on not signing a striker in the past few seasons. He called the situation as “poor recruitment”.

Midfielder Mikel Merino is playing as the centre-forward for the Gunners for the moment. Kai Havertz is recovering from his injury and will miss this season for sure. Merino is not used to playing in that position. Hence, he is not being able to make much of an impact there. He has failed to score in a third straight Premier League fixture.

Gabriel Jesus is also out with ACL injury and will be missing the rest of the season. He is the only other senior striker in the north London squad. But Gary thinks that the head coach is not satisfied with Jesus’ game. That could mean they must sign a new forward in the summer transfer window. Bringing in a new attacker should be their priority right now.

Striker options for Arsenal

Arsenal have been looking at plenty of options from the past few years. Although, they haven’t managed to land anyone of their desired targets. Players on their top list include Benjamin Sesko, Dusan Vlahovic, Aleksander Isak and Victor Osimhen to name a few.

The Boot Room report claims that the London side are tracking Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram. Their scouts watched his Champions League match recently. They are reportedly impressed with what they see in the player. He scored in the 2-0 win over Feyenoord.

The France international has a release clause of over £70 million in his contract. He will not be an easy signing buy but Arsenal will surely make a move for him in the summer.
