Wolves predicted lineup and team news vs Southampton: Vitor Pereira makes Pablo Sarabia call

Wolves travel to Southampton this weekend for a huge Premier League showdown.

The Wanderers head into this clash with a six-point buffer on the bottom three, with a draw against Everton last week handing them extra breathing space.

Since Leicester City and Ipswich Town can’t buy a win, Joe Cole has predicted Wolves to avoid relegation, believing Vitor Pereira’s men have enough to keep their heads above water.

Although there’s confidence in the Old Gold to confirm their Premier League status for another season, Pereira’s side still have a job to do and they can ill-afford to get complacent.

Paul Merson thinks Wolves will beat Southampton, narrowly predicting them to win 1-0, and the manager was handed some positive injury news on Friday afternoon.

Wolves team news ahead of Southampton

In the draw against the Toffees last weekend, Marshall Munetsi went off injured at half-time after scoring in the first half.

Fortunately, Pereira was able to confirm that Munetsi is available to start and had no fresh injury news to report.

The only players who are ruled out for the long-term are centre-back Yerson Mosquera (ACL), midfielder Enso Gonzalez (knee) and forward Sasa Kalajdzic (knee).

Meanwhile, Matheus Cunha will play out the second match of his suspension this weekend ahead of the March international break.

So, with all that said, here’s how Wolves could lineup against Southampton.

Pereira is in a rare position with his Wolves team selection, as the only big player absent for him his Cunha.

Admittedly, he will be a huge miss once again however, the Portuguese tactician will be confident his team have enough to secure all three points.

Since he has virtually his strongest lineup to select from, aside from Cunha, it’s difficult to see him making any changes to the side that secured a point against Everton.

Realistically, the only dilemma Pereira has is whether to throw Pablo Sarabia back into the lineup after he impressed off the bench but as Munetsi is fit, he should start in behind Jorgen Strand Larsen.

This also means Jean-Ricner Bellegarde keeps his palce in the team, with the incredible Andre starting next to Joao Gomes in midfield once more.
