The Patriots fixed barely addressed their offensive line issues Friday.
Wes Schweitzer reportedly will sign a one-year deal with New England, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.
Schweitzer isn’t going to magically fix all of the problems at One Patriot Place, but he is a versatile option who could play all three positions along the offensive line. He started 62 career games across stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders and New York Jets.
The 31-year-old most recently played in New York, where he overlapped with wide receivers coach Todd Downing.
New England still has plenty of moves to make as it relates to the unit. Schweitzer primarily plays along the interior and slid into a starting center role in Washington in 2022. The Patriots could perhaps have him compete with Ben Brown and Cole Strange after the release of David Andrews.

It’s not a game-changer, but this move provides some decent depth. You can’t be mad at that.
