Casemiro of Manchester United looks on
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro and captain Bruno Fernandes performed well against Real Sociedad
Casemiro has acknowledged Bruno Fernandes' immense contribution to Manchester United's 4-1 win over Real Sociedad on Thursday night.
The Reds recorded arguably their most impressive win under Ruben Amorim, with Fernandes again playing a vital role. The Reds captain netted a hat trick, including two penalties, to help Amorim's men ease into the Europa League quarter-finals, where they will face Lyon.
United know that the Europa League is their only realistic chance of securing European football at Old Trafford next season. Amorim's side sit 14th in the Premier League table with just 10 league matches left to play in 2024/25.
And the Reds will need Fernandes to maintain his impressive form if they are to triumph in Bilbao on May 21 and secure an unlikely return to the Champions League. Casmeiro has acknowledged the Portuguese in a recent Instagram story, uploading a picture of the two together and several emojis which symbolised Fernandes' talent.

Amorim has urged United's players to support Fernandes in his quest for trophies. The 30-year-old continues to bear the weight of the Reds squad on his shoulders during a challenging season.
"We already spoke about Bruno a lot of times," Amorim said in his post-match press-conference. "We know that sometimes he is frustrated.
"We know he wants to win so badly so when things are not going well, he is changing position going after the ball. Sometimes he needs to trust his teammates but when we need it, he is always there.
"He can bring the ball forward, he can score goals, he can defend. He is a perfect captain for our team and we need to help him win titles."
