76ers Make Move for Former Celtics Player After Paul George News

Despite entering the season with high expectations, things have not gone well for the Philadelphia 76ers. With a month left in the season, they are 22-43 and possess the fourth-worst record in the NBA. The Boston Celtics saw this first hand as they went 3-1 against them this season.

A major reason the 76ers have disappointed this season is because they have been derailed with injuries. In February, they shut Joel Embiid down for the rest of the season due to a knee injury, and they are currently dealing with an ongoing Paul George problem.

Recently, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that George is consulting with doctors and may undergo a procedure on his knee (X link). In response, the 76ers added a reinforcement via a player that Celtics fans are familiar with.

After winning their 18th championship last season, the Celtics brought all but two players back to the team. Svi Mykhailiuk signed with the Utah Jazz, but Oshae Brissett spent much of the season unsigned. He ultimately joined the Brooklyn Nets' G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. However, according to the latest reports he is now on his way to Philadelphia.

According to 76ers beat writer Keith Pompey, the team signed Brissett to a 10-day contract.

The Sixers are signing Oshae Brissett to a 10-day contract, according to sources. The Sixers were granted a roster hardship exception to sign an additional player to a 10-day contract.

The Celtics do not play the 76ers again this season, so they are not likely to meet up against their old friend until next year.

With Boston, Brissett became a fan favorite due to his high-energy playstyle off the bench. While it may sting Celtics fans seeing Brissett in Philadelphia, many fans will also simply be happy to see him back in the league.
