Biennial European Astrobiology Conference (BEACON)

The second Biennial European Astrobiology Conference (BEACON) will take place at the Harpa Conference Centre in Reykjavik, Iceland from 1 to 5 July 2025 (inclusive). The programme will start with an opening on June 30th in the evening and regular sessions will begin on July 1st 08:30.

The meeting will end on July 5th with the conference banquet in the evening (23:00). During this meeting also the 7th General Assembly of the EAI will take place, very probably on Tuesday 4th July. On July 6th there will be a one-day meeting of astrobiology institutions and organisations focusing on training and outreach.

An impressive number of abstracts come in for the conference – we can look forward to a very interesting programme.

exciting excursions on July 3rd to historically and geologically interesting places

two poster sessions

a conference banquet with possibility to see the series of exhibitions “Wonders of Iceland” in the carousel restaurant Perlan overlooking Reykjavik (www.perlan.is)

an after-conference trip to Southern Iceland

-possibility to book affordable accommodation (even camping is possible)

IMPORTANT: Just before BEACON (26 -29 June), the Astrobiology Graduates in Europe (AbGradE) together with OoLEN (Origin of Life Early Career Network) will organise a meeting for students and early career scientists called FALCON (Frontiers in Astrobiology and origins of Life Conference) in Reykjavik, Iceland.
