The first few moments of Kenyon Green's tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles may not exactly be fair to him.
The former first-round pick from the Houston Texans was shipped off to Philadelphia for fan-favorite safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. The outspoken safety led the team in picks last season and brought a sense of toughness to the roster the organization missed the year prior.
Green has struggled in his first few years in the league with Houston, but is excited about the new sense of fresh air in playing with Philadelphia.
"I feel like this is a breath of fresh air," Green said via SI. "New surroundings, new people to meet, different atmosphere. I'm extremely grateful for what the Texans have done for me. Unfortunately, it didn't go the way I wanted it to. I'm excited and happy that I'm here with the Eagles."
Green struggled in 2024 and was one of the lowest rated guards in the game according to Pro Football Focus. While there are many reasons for the poor performances, Green is taking responsibility for what he didn't get done.
"I can't really pinpoint just one thing that didn't go my way," said Green. "It was on me at times, and just making sure that I need to be prepared, and make sure that everything lines up with my health, my confidence in my game and just being a better player in general."

There's reason to suspect that his career could be on the upward trend, though.
Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland has a history of taking reclamation projects and turning them into Pro Bowl candidates. He did that with Mekhi Becton, Brandon Brooks, and many others.
It appears Green wants to be the one it happens to again.
