On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors cruised over the Sacramento Kings, winning 130-104. In the game, Stephen Curry scored only 11 points and shot 2-6 from 3-point range, but his final 3 was his 4,000th career make, which is a record that could very well never be broken.
James Harden boasts the second-most career 3-pointers. He has played the same amount of seasons as Curry and has actually appeared in over 100 more games, but he is more than 800 made 3s behind Curry.
The gap between Curry and Harden is greater than the gap between Harden and Paul George, who ranks ninth all-time.
After the game, Curry's teammates and coaches reflected on the milestone.
"Steph, to be on the verge of crossing 4,000 three-pointers, it's just a testament to who he is, his hard work, the type of person he is, the level of talent he is," praised Draymond Green.
"For him to hit 4,000 threes, I don't know if anybody's even close to that number, but for him to get there shows that we already know that he's the greatest shooter ever," declared Kevon Looney.
"He's a cheat code, and he's the greatest shooter ever. I don't think there's much else to say besides the greatest to ever do it," offered Trayce Jackson-Davis.
"I think it's just a testament to the work that he puts in," said assistant coach Jerry Stackhouse. "I think it's an art form for him now. It's a science to him."
