The Boston Celtics are getting ready to take on the Miami Heat tonight as they look to get back on track. Boston is coming off a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their last game so they would love nothing more than to move on.

However, entering this contest, Boston does have multiple key players listed on the injury report. One of which is guard Derrick White, who has been listed as questionable entering the game.
White has been dealing with a left knee issue but he hasn't had to miss any time of late. But his being on the injury report does put his status into question.
We should know the status of White as well as others closer to game start. Boston could be shorthanded in this game against Miami depending on who will be available.
Boston is playing the Heat in the first game of a back-to-back so the Celtics could elect to hold some players out of this contest. White has been a major piece to the puzzle for the Celtics this year so his absence would be felt on both ends of the floor.
White has averaged 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season. The veteran guard has given the Celtics a major boost and is expected to be a prime piece to them going for a title repeat.
Boston currently sits in the No. 2 spot of the Eastern Conference standings, holding a record of 47-19. They remain 8.5 games back of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first spot and 5.5 games up on the New York Knicks, who hold the No. 3 seed.
The Celtics are essentially locked into the No. 2 seed barring anything drastic from happening so this gives them some cushion down the stretch of the season. The team has prioritize rest rather than fighting for playoff positioning, helping to set themselves up nicely for the playoffs.
