The Patriots reportedly brought aboard another familiar face on Friday.
Marcus Epps reportedly signed a one-year deal with New England, [according to Tom Pelissero](https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1900624912638726188) of NFL Media. Epps becomes just the latest veteran to join the ranks after previously playing for a member of the current coaching staff — briefly playing for Josh McDaniels with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Epps, 29, provides some much-needed depth on the back-end of the defense, potentially serving as a true centerfield option alongside Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger. New England has now added two former captains from McDaniels’ stint in LV — Epps and Robert Spillane.
The Patriots still have plenty of money to make offensive upgrades, but for now it appears they have a clear focus on the defensive side of the football.
