Both Manchester City and Brighton will be without several key players for their Premier League clash this weekend.

City will host Brighton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they return to Premier League action. Pep Guardiola's side go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in their last top flight fixture.

That result at the City Ground handed City a major blow in their hopes of finishing in the top four. City are fifth in the Premier League table and two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and four adrift of Forest in third.

Guardiola will be forced to name a City team with several members of his first-team squad on the sidelines. Rodri (knee) remains unavailable with a long-term injury, as does Oscar Bobb (fitness).

Nathan Ake (foot) and John Stones (thigh) are not expected to return to the matchday squad until later in the season. Manuel Akanji (adductor) is also on the sidelines after undergoing surgery in February and is expected to be sidelined for a total of two months.

Brighton will also be without some key players when they travel to the Etihad. Tariq Lamptey is expected to return to the squad after serving a one-match suspension in the Seagull's previous match against Fulham.

Igor Julio, Fergi Kadioglu, Jason Steele, James Milner, Matt O'Riley, Joel Veltman and Lewis Dunk are all unavailable for Brighton for the clash against City. Fabian Hurzeler's team go into the game at the Etihad on the back of a 2-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League last weekend and are one point behind City in sixth place.
