Paul Pogba is looking for a new club
France manager Didier Deschamps says he is in contact with former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as he looks to sign for a new club.
The France international, who had his four-year ban reduced to 18 months on appeal after testing positive for the prohibited substance DHEA, can now return to competitive football. His ban officially ended on Tuesday.
Pogba has been linked with several teams including a return to Old Trafford - but reports have claimed United have no plans to re-sign their former player. This week, Pogba posted a video of himself training on the pitch doing a selection of drills, with the caption: "Someone is back."
Deschamps, meanwhile, is in touch with the midfielder as he makes a decision on his future. Speaking to reporters this week, the France boss said: "He's supposed to be able to play again, but he doesn't have a club. We're talking, and I won't tell you the details.
"Yes, he has the ability and the mentality to return to the highest level. It won't happen overnight, but for the moment, he hasn't made a decision. We'll see."
Reports claim Pogba has already had interest from a number of clubs including Marseille, Fiorentina and from Spain's La Liga. He is also said to have rejected offers from the Saudi Pro League and the Brazilian Serie A.
Pogba had two spells at Old Trafford - the first between 2011 and 2012 - and the second between 2016 to 2022. He won the League Cup and Europa League during his second spell, which was characterised by inconsistent performances.
The 31-year-old then left the club upon the expiration of his contract and joined Juventus on a free transfer in June 2022, where he made a total of 190 appearances during a two-year spell.
