Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Ben Skowronek will get a two-year deal from the team in his new contract. NFL insider Arye Pulli revealed the team would give Skowronek $4.5 million over the next two years after an impressive first season with the team.
Skowronek was a key special teamer and versatile player for the Steelers on offense. He was signed to the practice squad after being released by the Houston Texans.
Skowronek missed time with shoulder and hip injuries, but became an integral part of their special teams units as a gunner. He played as a wing, wide receiver, fullback, and even an H-back at times in the offense. That allowed Skowronek’s role to take shape.
He was selected by the Rams out of Notre Dame, where he was teammates with former Steelers wide receiver Miles Boykin. Skowronek won the Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021, and has just over 500 receiving yards in his NFL career.
