Newcastle have been installed as surprise favourites to sign Paul Pogba on a free transfer.
The former Manchester United player is free to join a new club as of the beginning of March, having served his 18-month ban for a failed drugs test.
Gambling.com have made the Magpies the leading contenders to snap up Pogba, with odds of 2/1.

Premier League side West Ham are next in the running at 9/4 with a move to Saudi Arabia ranked as the next possibility at 3/1.
A return to Old Trafford doesn’t look to be on the cards for Pogba
In terms of the other runners and riders, Everton, Tottenham, Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Chelsea and even Arsenal are considered more likely destinations than Manchester United.
The 31-year-old had two separate spells with the Red Devils but the bookies have placed odds of 10/1 on him returning for a third stint at the club, with Manchester City (12/1) seen as an even less likely transfer.
Would Newcastle seriously consider signing the midfielder?
Pogba is a mercurial talent. Despite flattering to deceive at club level, he was very influential in France winning the 2018 World Cup.
He may be about to turn 32 but his time away from football, both due to suspension and injuries, means he has fewer miles on the clock than other players of the same age.
In terms of the downsides, Pogba has shown no interest in returning to the UK, with reports suggesting that the United States, Saudi Arabia or even Brazil may be likelier destinations.
His wages are likely to be rather high too. The Magpies’ highest earner is Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazilian takes home around £160,000 a week, and you would expect that Pogba would demand a bigger salary than that.
